SPA - ethics
We all know what to expect when we receive an invitation for an official dinner. We are informed about the time and the place of the event and they usually let us know what level it is. We are ready to use different devices for different dishes, different glasses for different wines, we know what to wear and how to behave. If we have never before been to a dinner party, then the easiest way to figure everything out is just to look around and do the same as the others do, especially when it comes to eating soup!
But this is not applicable in SPA-salons because there are separate rooms. For example, if in the invitation to the dinner it is clearly stated: "to come in a black tie", it is not written anywhere in the cabin, "remove all the clothes." Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for a person who came to the salon for the first time to not know exactly how to behave.
Here are a few tips for customers:
- You do not need to take anything with yourself, if you wish you can take a bathing suit (for water procedures). For you the bathrobes, towels and disposable underwear are prepared.
- Come right on time or a little earlier than your time to get the maximum pleasure out of the procedures.
- Usually you need to be completely undressed for body procedures. The SPA operator will wrap up your body and leave only the right part of it uncovered. However, during peelings, such as wraps and hydrotherapy, you need to be completely naked to get everything that these procedures can give. Sometimes a bathing suit is appropriate.
- Let the SPA operator do all the services, as required by established standards, for example – using the whole amount of time.
- Be sure to let the specialist know where you have problematic spots on your body.
- And relax, finally, because that's why you came to the spa salon. Enjoy it and get all the benefits of it and let the other person work for you.
- Be sure that you are in a professional spa and do not expect any other services. Know that you have the right to be both silent and talkative.
- Delicately share the common spaces of the salon with the other visitors of the Spa.
- If you brought your children with you, do not leave them unattended. It is very dangerous for the children and very uncomfortable for other SPA clients.
- Find out whether the tip is included in the bill, and be prepared, according to your habits and desire, to give them or not.
- Take your time but do not forget that the room should be prepared for the next customer. Therefore, be aware that after the completion of the procedure you must vacate the room.
- Be sincere with the SPA operator, the director, the salon administrator, since they really want to know if you got what you expected or not.
- SPA industry is all about getting pleasure and that cannot be obtained without respecting certain rules and respect for each other!
How to become a perfect customer
Visiting the SPA is always a little holiday for the body and the soul. It is an opportunity for several hours to turn off the crazy rhythm of the city life and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of calmness and harmony. Unfortunately, sometimes this harmony is violated exactly by those for whom it is created - customers. Having mastered some simple rules of SPA etiquette, you will not only get more pleasure from visiting the SPA, but also become a favorite client.
- Sign up for the procedure
- Be punctual
- Cancel the appointment as soon as possible
- Getting dressed and undressed
- Remember of hygiene
- Be prepared
- Aware about problems with the health
- Get all the pleasure
- Respect other visitors
- Tips policy
As a rule, the "hot time" for the spa is evening hours of working days of the week and Saturday, so the procedure should be ordered in advance. Choosing a convenient time in the morning and in the afternoon is much easier. If you want to get an appointment with a particular specialist, be sure to discuss it with the administrator when you sign up for the procedure.
Come to the procedure 15 minutes before the scheduled time to have time to change and take a shower. If you are late, the time of your procedure is reduced. After the procedure, you can spend some time in the relaxation room.
If you are forced to cancel the appointment, try to do it as soon as possible - at least in 24 hours, if this is one procedure, and for 48 hours, if this is a package of services. This is due to the fact that all procedures are prepared in advance for each client.
The majority of clients come to the SPA in everyday clothes. It is advisable not to wear jewelry, but if you still have it, leave them in the locker before the procedure or give it to the administrator for storage. Some procedures are performed when the client is fully clothed, others (for example, hydrotherapy) - when he is without clothes. In the sauna, pool or jacuzzi you can be without clothes or in a bathing suit. Towels, bathrobes and slippers are provided to customers in the spa, where they get the water procedures. The Spa has locker rooms where you can change. If for the procedure (for example, massage) it is necessary for the client to be without clothes, then immediately before the procedure the specialist leaves the room to give the client the opportunity to undress and lie down under the sheet. Thus, during the procedure the body remains closed, except for massaged areas. Immediately after the procedure, the specialist also leaves the room so that the client can dress safely and conveniently.
Before each water procedure you need to take a shower. In a sauna or steam room, please sit on your towel. Shaving legs in the sauna is not allowed!
If a man has the face skin care, shave 2 hours before the treatment. Try to avoid the sunbathing on the day of the procedure, and in some cases also on the next day. It is not recommended to eat one hour before the procedure and drink alcohol on the day of the procedure. Before and after the procedure, you should consume a large amount of liquid, especially if you have to go to the sauna or steam room.
If you have any health issues, report this when signing up for the procedure. Perhaps, some of them are undesirable for you. If you have a procedure for a person, and you wear contact lenses, inform the cosmetologist about it.
All aspects of the procedure can be changed according to your desire: light, music (or lack of it), temperature in the room and even communication with a specialist (you may not have social conversations during the procedure if you want to enjoy silence). Do not hesitate to ask questions. The specialist will be grateful if you let him know about your feelings, thoughts about the procedure and so on. If you are not satisfied with something and you are uncomfortable, tell them about it. If your comments are unanswered, please report this to the administrator.
In the SPA clients come for relaxing, so respect the silence and speak as quietly as possible. Mobile phones and other electronic devices should be left at home or switched off when you are in the spa.
In many SPAs, tips are not included in the bill, but they are allowed and accepted with pleasure. And in some spa a tip is included in the cost of the procedure. You should check with the administrator. Tipping is usually 10-15% of the cost of each procedure, but, depending on the quality of the service, you can increase or decrease the amount of compensation. The easiest way to leave a tip is when you pay for services, rather than give money to a specialist. In many SPA there are special "envelopes for tips": a client should write the name of the specialist to whom the reward is intended and then your name.
